Beavers Fire Station Trip

Both Beaver colonies enjoyed separate visits to Southmead Fire Station this week to learn about fire safety and to enjoy a tour of the Fire Station. They learnt that firefighters rarely rescue cats from trees, they occasionally have to rescue horses from holes and the Southmead crew have over 1 mile of hose to help put out fires in remote countryside locations!

The Tuesday night Beavers had the added excitement of witnessing an emergency call out mid way though their tour of the fire engine, although they were left in the more than capable hands of Firefighter Jane who entertained the Beavers by allowing them to dress up as Firefighters.

The events were enjoyed by all and we thank the Southmead Firecrew for their time and energy in showing us round.
