Whatever your skills, experience and interests, we can find a role for you!
Scouting is growing in popularity, with increasing numbers of boys and girls joining the adventure.
But because the demand from young people far outstrips the numbers of adult volunteers we have available to help. We need your help to allow more young people to experience the challenge and adventure of Scouting.
What can Scouting do for me?
Our adult volunteers get just as much fun from Scouting as young people. As well as helping young people to enjoy the adventure of Scouting, you also get the opportunity to try a whole range of different activities and new experiences.
We can also help you develop your current skills and learn new ones. Volunteering in Scouting can enhance your CV or simply allow you to pursue your interest in a specific hobby.
You don't need to have previous experience in Scouting, just energy and enthusiasm. All of our adult volunteers receive full induction and ongoing training and support.
How can I help Scouting?
There are many ways in which you can give your time to help Scouting whatever your gender, age, abilities and skills. Most of our volunteers have full-time jobs and help out on a flexible basis, around their other commitments.
Whether you can spare two hours a week or one day a month, we need volunteers to help young people experience the challenge and adventure of Scouting.
Simply let us know your availability and how much your would like to help and we will match this to roles within your local area.
Opportunities for you!
There is a whole range of different volunteering opportunities available to you through Scouting. For example:
- Leaders to work with young people at weekly meetings
- Managers to lead and support teams of adults to deliver Scouting
- Trustees to make sure property and resources are properly administered
- Instructors to run a huge range of adventurous activities
- Media and communications people to promote Scouting and improve our communication
- Administrators to make sure policies and procedures are followed correctly
