Quiz & Curry Night raises essential funds for a new Scout Community Centre

The 43rd Bristol Scout Group was overwhelmed by the support of the local community who came to take part in its Quiz & Curry Night fundraiser on Saturday 11 February 2023.

Held at the magnificent Stoke Bishop Village Hall, the place was buzzing with 90 guests, all keen to catch up with friends and ready for some healthy competition! Congratulations to Team “Mrs Brown’s Boys and Girls” who won the quiz.

Chair of the Group, Charles Elderton, commented “We are so grateful to everyone who joined us for such a memorable night. Not even a power cut could stop us having a lot of fun! We are now so close to being able to build our new Scout Community Centre that an event like this just shows how much our local community wants us to succeed. Early indications show that the event raised over £2000 which is truly amazing. Thank you to everyone who came along.

I’d also like to thank Sarah for preparing such a delicious range of curries, to Chris our Quiz Master, to Monty and Charlotte for serving on the bar all night, to Carolyn who ran our raffle and to Chris who provided the sound system. It was a real team event so to all our volunteer helpers, a very big thank you. You know who you are.”

The Group likes to use and support local businesses so we are very grateful to Aimees Winehouse, Bristol Beer Factory and Adam Taylor Coaching for their help and support.
