Another Brilliant Beaver Camp…

The sun shone once again allowing our Beavers to enjoy their 2nd annual Beaver camp at the lovely Olveston Scout hut. The warm weather allowed them to make the most of the facilities and outdoor space around the hut. Supervised by 7 beaver leaders and 3 parent helpers the Beavers spent the weekend outdoors hiking, playing team sports and learning new skills. They were split into 4 teams for the weekend activities: England, Russia, France and Brazil.

On Saturday afternoon they participated in an hour and a half hike arriving at the hut to enjoy a well earnt ice cream and drink followed by a BBQ and then they had the opportunity to watch the England v Sweden football match, or play outside. A camp fire was lit at dusk and the Beavers spent time singing songs and roasting marshmallows before retiring to bed (some earlier than others).

In the morning after breakfast the Beavers learnt basic compass skills and applied these on an orienteering course set up in the beautiful surrounding countryside.  They returned to the hut to pack up their kit and say goodbye to all their Beaver friends.

A massive thank you to Jacquie and the Beaver team for all their hard work, sacrificing their time and looking after the Beavers, making sure they all returned home with many happy memories and having had a wonderful time.
