Probus nominates 43rd Bristol Scouts as its Charity of the Year

We were delighted when we heard that The President of Clifton Down Probus Club, Scott Whitby-Smith, had chosen the 43rd Bristol Scout Group to be this year’s nominated charity.

Two of the Group’s Trustee’s, Charles Elderton and Andrew Judd, spoke at a Probus meeting at BAWA Healthcare and Leisure Centre in Southmead on 20 November.

Over 50 guest attended and Charles and Andrew spoke about the long history of the Scout Group and the strength of its community involvement in Stoke Bishop and Sneyd Park.

In addition they talked about the vast array of activities the 80+ children take part in weekly.

A big focus of the talk included information about all the hard work that has been put in by so many over the last 10 years to get close to being able to build a new Scout Community Centre.

The audience also listened to a personal voice message of support to the Group from Chief Scout, Bear Gryllls, and watched a recent promotional video.

We would like to thank everyone who attended the talk and for your support and positive feedback.
