The Tuesday Beavers had a wonderful overnight camp at the Olveston Scout Hut. There was plenty of food, games, fires and fun to be had and they even let the leaders get a bit of sleep! This week we reached another significant milestone in our community build project. After a significant amount of ground-work preparation including demolition, piling, concrete pouring and below-ground block work the steels are now in place. For once sun cream was in demand and rain coats stayed at the bottom of kitbags all weekend for the 43rd Bristol Cub camp at Woodhouse. Fifteen cubs pitched tents overlooking the Severn Estuary and enjoyed activities such as go-karting, air rifle shooting, orienteering and the ever popular adventure course. We held our annual plant sale at Trinity College this year, raising much needed funds for our new hut. The Scouts also ran a very tasty cake sale which was very well received. Big thanks to Monkton Elm Nursery for supplying the plants and Trinity College for letting us use their wonderful grounds.

The 43rd Scout Group were invited to provide refreshments for the Garden Open Day in the garden in Druid Stoke Avenue on 27th April. A great team effort from Scouts, leaders and parents, marshalling at the finish line of the 2025 Bristol Half Marathon. There was an amazing atmosphere and we raised valuable funds for our new hut build.
