Stoke Bishop & Sea Mills Ward Forum Public Meeting – update given by 43rd Bristol Scout Group

At the most recent Ward Forum public meeting held at Stoke Bishop Village Hall on Friday 10 May 2025, the 43rd were invited to join the panel at the meeting.

Chair of the Group, Charles Elderton, updated the Forum about the latest information regarding the Group’s work to replace their wooden hut and build a new Scout Community Centre.

He was able to share the very positive news that the old hut was demolished in early March 2025.

Site works to date has involved the removal of all waste material and ground works.

Twenty-one reinforced concrete piles have been installed and ground beams laid. A significant amount of concrete has subsequently been poured and below-ground blocks are currently being laid.

Charles thanked all those involved, including contractors, professional advisors and suppliers for their support to-date. In particular he wished to express the Group’s appreciation to all those members of our local community who have donated monies to make this build possible.

He reminded the Forum that we were still fundraising to ensure we can fit-out the new build.

He encouraged everyone present to be an advocate of our project and to take part in our Buy-A-Brick campaign by visiting www.43rdbristolscouts.org.uk
