The beavers enjoyed a fun night taking part in a ladybird relay game as well as building woodlice homes to take away and look after. Another great night of learning and games! Hopefully all of the woodlice have either been released or have found their own way out by now…
43rd Bristol are very proud to see our Assistant Cub Scout Leader, Yvonne, awarded with her wood badge to recognise the completion of her training. Well done Yvonne!
The cubs recently took part in a team based challenge night. They worked in their sixes to build paper towers, complete quizzes, build the tallest Jenga towers and do smarty runs. Well done to all the cubs for such great team work!
The Beavers spent the evening at the hut learning basic squash skills from professional coaches Richard King (world ranked 314 in 2014) and Kylie Lindsay (world ranked 34 in 2012) from Elite Squash. The beavers were challenged to build a Lego bridge capable of carrying a toy car over 25cm’s. They worked in teams to build various structures all of which were able to carry the toy car the set distance. Well done beavers. A team of willing adult volunteers from Stoke Bishop based 43rd Bristol Scouts helped set up gazebos, tables and banners for the Westbury Christmas Fayre to be held on Saturday 16 December. Cubs and Beavers both took part in Christmas activities this week, making yule logs, key rings and playing ‘the chocolate and scarf’ game. Cubs also said good bye to 2 of their senior cubs who are progressing to Scouts in the new year!
